Beah, is the coat soft enough that it would hug the body of a very small rat terrier? I have one that is similar, but is so stiff that it sticks out away from her body. I am going to order one for my boxer mix for sure! And would like some feed back from you on the softness of the product.

Re: [boxer lovers] Boxer hugs

Dear Lisa,
I am so very sorry about Cooper. I lost Dugga over a year ago, but she was the most empathetic dog I have ever had. She seemed to know just what I needed when I needed it. Please know that you will be in my thoughts---we just never have enough time with our babies.

Boxers are very empathetic. I've not had one yet who didn't know when
things were "not quite right" whether because of sadness or joy and
react accordingly.

I lost Cooper on Sunday. The weekend before I had rushed him early
Saturday morning to the animal emergency clinic where he stayed the
weekend. I took him to my vet who evaluated and suggested the best
course would be to take him to Purdue University where they have all the
equipment and can do tests on the fly. Every day, whenever I left the
house, Meg was frantic. When I would return she would be barking and
whining. Leaving she tried to sneak out the door and when I didn't let
her, bark and whine.

On Sunday when I went up to see Cooper and we (Vet and I) realized,
although he'd been trying very hard for the week, everything was just
too much and he'd given up, I made the decision. When I got home,
nothing from Meg but meeting me at the door. I wasn't crying by the time
I got home so it wasn't that, but she spent all afternoon glued to my
hip. We slept snuggled very close. While all last week she'd run outside
and look around, after I got home Sunday she didn't. Somehow she knew.

So, yeah. Our Boxers are the best there are.

[boxer lovers] excellent dog coat/blanket

http://www.horseloverz.com/Tough-1-600D-Dog-Blanket-pr-611088.html

Hi
A friend gave me this dog coat for Odie--but Cho, the boxer, was much colder
and it's a trick keeping anything on Odie without altering it--as he's a
tripod!

The price on this coat/blanket is incredible.
Cho had surgery on 11/21-I put this coat on her to get her to go out to pee.
She tends to run cold anyway--so she hasn't had the coat off for days!!

It comes in all sizes and the prices are incredible for the quality and
durability
and it's washable--it's made like a mini version of a horse blanket-so
it was
designed for that.

Let me know whatcha think!
wishing you and your doggies a happy holidays!
Beah

Re: [boxer lovers] Boxer hugs- natural nurturers

My Cho is so sweet and empathetic with me. She has also checked in and
comforted 2 of my recent guests( neither have dogs) who kept saying
everything was fine--I am psychic and observant enough to know that
these 2 guests needed some TLC to say the least. They were both acting
like Cho was pesty-- they shoo-ed her away-but she was persistent and I
was in agreement with Cho's choice to show em some love!
That was several months ago. She has continued to greet them with great
love and check on them when they are down. I had Cho spayed on 11/21. It
was so hard on her. I gotta say, both of these friends suddenly were
very nurturing and attentive to her-
It was great to watch. And Cho is back to her old self now--
I am ordering her little sweatshirt/hoodies off of ebay as she doesn't
want her coat blanket (Tough1 by JT) off!
Additionally I'd like to report that my Huskie Mix 'ever stoked on
life' tripod, Huskie dude, Odie started sleeping right by Cho when she
came home from her surgery. So great to see love shared amongst many
creatures. Now she is back to growling and playing and gumming his
neck--he just smiles and rolls on his back!

Aho and all my relations!
Happy Warm Holidays!
Beah and Cho

I know Boxers are known "huggers" so I am not surprised when I get hugs.  What has surprised me the last couple of days is this.  My mom had a stroke and is in the ICU.  Guess who has been closer to my side than usual?  Guess who has noticed when I am feeling upset and/or stressed and just has to wrap her arms around me and put her cheek to mine?  Is she more human than I think, or what?  Is it any wonder we are nuts about our Boxer babies?

Just had to share.
