Sam, we have been "owned" by both boxers and shepherds. They are both
wonderful dogs. We have had nothing but boxers for the past 13 years.
They are wonderful family pets....smart, affectionate, warm, but "very
active". The need to be a part of the family and desire/require a lot of
attention. They do not do well with heat, so that should be a consideration.
Our boxers have always been inside dogs. All of our boxers have been
wonderful with the grandchildren. My suggestion would be for obedience
training for the pup right from the start.
