What is World Oceans Day?
On June 8, organizations and communities from around the world will join to celebrate the Earth's largest life-support system, the ocean. World Oceans Day, first celebrated in 2002, was established to help educate others on the impact the ocean has on our lives and what we need to do to protect it.

World Oceans Day Events
In celebration of our amazing blue planet, National Aquarium will be celebrating World Oceans Day this weekend. We have events scheduled in Baltimore and Washington, DC, each with great ocean-themed activities.

Indoor activities are free with cost of admission. For tickets, visit aqua.org. Outdoor activities on the waterfront plaza in Baltimore are free to the public and will take place rain or shine.
