[boxer lovers] Fwd: RESCUE: email got last night and newest GOBR Foster Boxer - re: Baby Boxer in need

Mary, this one bounced back on me for the same reason as the other one.  Can't figure it out.  Would you PLEASE post this to boxerlovers for me.  We're praying for donations for sure for this one as the vet bill is for sure going to be a lot more than what the person who provided the information guesstimated.

Actually this pup is only 11 weeks old, weighs 9 pounds, and the owners had never given her a name.  The owner did agree to surrender to GOBR so that the pup could get the help it needed.  Just thought many of you would want to follow her story, see pictures and progress on our main web site at http://www.goboxerrescue.com , our Facebook pages at http://www.facebook.com/goboxerrescue and soon on our Twitter account at http://twitter.com/goboxerrescue

Hello,
I have hopes that someone can help this little girl! My mother-in-law works for Mxxxxx Veterinary Clinic in Myyyyy, Ohio. Today an owner brought in a little female boxer (16 weeks I think my mother-in-law said) because she has been throwing up for several days. (See attached picture) She got into a pillow a few days ago, and the doctor is pretty certain that she has an obstruction. (The vet doesn't think it is parvo, etc.) The owner of the dog isn't willing to put money into the dog, and wasn't even willing to pay for an x-ray.

The vet got the owner to agree to giving the dog IV fluids and deworming but the vet believes that the real problem is an obstruction and that these measures probably won't help. They are going to see if the pup is any better tomorrow, but the owner said to put the puppy down if it needs surgery - he isn't willing (or able?) to pay for it. My mother-in-law called me because I have two boxers and volunteered for a boxer rescue some 8 years ago (which no longer exists.) The owner is willing to turn the dog over to someone else instead of putting it to sleep. But, this person will need to pay for the surgery, which my mother-in-law estimated at $600-$700 to go through the intestines and remove the obstruction. I don't want this little girl to die! But, with two boxers and other obligations, I don't know if I can swing the vet bills (and long term commitment) to keep her. The owner has not even named her, if that shows you how (un)caring they are. :( If she
improves tomorrow, the owner might keep her, but the vet thinks this is very unlikely. This area is near Appalachia, so the vet's office sees this sort of thing all the time - they can't devote the time and effort to save all the dogs in need. Please help if you can! You can call me at xxx or reply to this message.
Sincerely,
S
