My dogs have always tended to stay between me and strangers.
My Mom had one Boxer that would nibble at peoples butts when they tried to leave. He did not like people to leave. He never damaged clothes or injured anyone. It was more of a little pinch.
As for talking in their sleep, both of mine do that. They growl, whine and bark. They also run moving their feet in their sleep.
