Hi Everyone- I just adopted a wonderful Dachshund/mix from the Boulder Humane Society(a super good humane society with behavior modification training, support etc,) Her name is Lulu and she is adorable!! I grew up with a dachshund named Gretel in the 1950s. I live in Colorado which is a state that is "heaven for dogs" - dog parks everywhere, everyone has dogs and they are allowed in many businesses, also dog/bike paths everywhere. Lulu needs to shed a few pounds and so do I so we are great for each other. The behavioral issue we are working on with the humane society's support is fear barking at big dogs and loud men. She is making some progress with the men. If anyone has any suggestions for me I'd greatly appreciate them. She is wonderful with my grandchildren so I am very happy. Lulu is a red smooth dachshund just like Gretel was.
