I have pups that will be 6-weeks-old Sunday, 2/5/12, Yes, they were born Christmas Day! I started weaning them at 4 weeks. I had them on Puppy Iams and Puppy Wellness 1/2 & 1/2 with about 1/4 cup of warm beef or chicken broth to moisten the food. Their stools are very loose and sometimes runny. So I wanted to figure out what is causing the problem. I cut out the Puppy Iams and the broth. Now they are on just the Puppy Wellness and warm water. Very little to no improvement in their stools in 3 days. I thought of cutting out the Wellness and just put them on Puppy Iams and warm water today. Kinda frustrated with this as I've been struggling with getting it right since I started weaning them. Oh, they still nurse on Mom for 5 minutes twice a day. She lets them so I don't see that could be the problem?
I am taking them into the Vet for their 6-week shots on Monday 2/7. I surely will ask the Vet about this, but I was hoping to get a good fecal sample for testing to take to the Vet. I was hoping to get advice from someone who may have had a similar issue.
