Thank you all for all the good advise. I will have to start paying more attention to what could be causing the hives. Luckily they are small and not itchy. So far it's happened after returning from the dog park and he's played in the dirt... Vet has told me it could be anything. I do not want to live depending on Benedryl, since I don't know the long term side effects.
