I suspect you are right but since a puppy has no defense, hope you have a plan. :)
We just tried to introduce a year old male boxer/part pit to three year old female and he immediately attacked her without even finding out she was female.
I was angry at my daughter for doing it the way she did it cause now we have more problems next time we do it. (She owns the male, I own the female) Although I have to admit that is the first time I've seen a male attack a female. He didn't hurt her, thank goodness, but she has never been attacked before, could change how she handles dogs in the future. Which POs me royally.
I call my Cane Corso my Boxer with teeth. We had gotten her bc the house we used to live in kept getting broken into & the police wouldn't do anything about it so I got a guard dog and a safe. Corsos actually have a very similar personality to Boxers except that they are always dominant and very territorial. I actually had to work with a trainer to tone her attitude down a bit and she is much less aggressive now but doesn't like other dogs coming onto her property. I think she will be more accepting of a puppy bc it's a baby but I'm sure our first few days will be spent trying to make peace.
