Yes, growling is normal. It teaches the puppy what behavior is acceptable and what is not. She did kind of snap at him once or twice at first so I had to reprimand her for that but she seems more tolerant now. Maya is really a good girl but she is a dominant guarding breed and also very much a mama's girl, likes to be the center of attention so I am making sure she doesn't feel displaced. Thank goodness my shepherd mix could care less about thte puppy.
