My dogs are pretty good. Every now and then Yukon will get into something. I often give them/him something to keep them busy. He loves balls, Gemini loves bones and Bella loves stuffed animals. I will take Yukon's balls, put them in a shoe box or empty dog food bag. He loves to tear apart the box or bag, it makes a mess but it is easy to clean up. He needs to keep his mind and body active. I keep big containers of the balls, bones and stuffed animals so they can dig in. Yukon tears up stuffed animals somethings so there are plenty in the container in case he is in the mood I have no trouble with separation anxiety, as I walk out the door I hand each a half a hot dog. When they see me turn off the TV and turn on the radio (I leave it on when I am gone, rock music and turned up)they are sitting next to the door before I can even get my coat on They are happy to see me go, can't wait, that is the magic of a hot dog. They know the ritual of leaving and are happy for it Also I play a lot of games with them when I am home. Balls under bowls for him to find and get out. Stuffed animal in boxes with easy to remove lids. Treats under boxes or bowls, Sometimes I save toilet paper and paper towel rolls when they are empty. I put treats on them and scrunch the ends closed the give each dog one.

It sounds like your female has separation anxiety. We are dealing with a blind boxer rescue with a pretty severe case of this as well and have gotten so much conflicting advice, but we're piecing it together.The first thing I would do is find a good positive reinforcement trainer to work with you and her in your home. I would also look into some calming things like a thundershirt and to a dog's ear music CD's, talking to your vet about valerian and immediately look into some kind of in home pet sitter or perhaps doggie day care.
I thought my female had separation anxiety, but realized I had a bored pup. After what we've been through with the blind rescue, there is definitely a difference and your girl sounds very much more like separation anxiety than bored pup.

I have two boxers, my second set. One male, one female (no relation), bith are three years old. The male is a quiet big gentleman, a bit of a coward, the female is a bundle of energy, fierce, smart, and quite a character.
When I bought her, I swear she nor any of her ancestors back to wolves had ever been in a house. She had no discipline, no response respect, no idea.. I was forced to put cage her while at work because she destroyed everything. She figured out to get out of every cage, until I bought a metal one,, then she was ok for awhile, but eventually she figured out how to push the plastic bottom out and then she could tear up the carpet under it.
Eventually she stopped chewing, mostly, and I stopped caging her.
I just moved to a new house and she is back at it again, and every attempt to stop her had failed. She had ripped every screen off back windows and when they were all gone she stayed chewing through the wood on the house.
I bought an iron gate and put her off deck in yard and she had figured iyt how to undo chain and even get on deck w it in place. And then she rips up wood and jumps on the windows. It is only a matter of time before she busts a window and cuts herself.

I have a deep love for her, do not want to give her away, I want to fix problem, but don't know how, except to tie her up,, which I doubt this would work either..
She is very obedient, knows sit down stay, congress when I call even when running free. She adores children, will play w them for hours. I am older, cannot walk her everyday, but she has a large backyard and runs and plays w male.
Can anyone help me?
