Acne is a problem we see quite often in Boxers. I don't believe there is an absolute way to prevent the acne. All I have ever been told is to keep the chin clean. Wash it with just plain soap and water three times a week. When a dog has an active case of the acne, I use a solution of 50% peroxide and 50% water to clean the chin.
Not all Boxers get acne. Some get it really bad, while others just get a couple pimples and that's it. If you do get a really bad case it is best to go to the veterinarian. Some bad cases can require antibiotics.

Hi everyone! I have two boxers, Heidi and Gunther. Heidi is 2 1/2 and Gunther is 8 months old. Heidi gets "acne" type pimples on her muzzle and below her chin. My vet opened one and confirmed that. I didn't think to ask what I should do to treat/care/prevent them. Anyone have this same thing? If so, how have you taken care of it?
