My Brit didn't have colitis but she did suffer from pancreantitis for 19 months during her long battle with CRF. She on a daily basis took FortiFlora, it comes in a packet and you sprinkle it on their food, this helped her tremendously, it balanced things in her gut. I purchased mine from the vet until I found a more reasonable price with one of the on-line pharmacy's, you need to do your homework to find the best prices. I wish you much luck, Boxer bellies are a common problem, Roger suffers from time to time, so I use Pepcid or Slippery Elm.

Subject: [boxer lovers] Colitis in Boxers----Beware Graphic Description
Hi All,
I have been around for forever and have seldom needed help but my vet (of
30 years) told me today that my 10 year (approximately) young female
brindle rescue may have a type of colitis that boxers are prone to and he
said that it's untreatable.......I was dropping off a particularly messy
stool sample that looked like it had a touch of blood and lots of mucus and
some of her intestine involved...Have any of you dealt with this issue?
Any information would be so appreciated.....my Marciano seems so healthy
most of the time but the past couple of months she has these episodes and
her vet and I have been trying to treat her but after a few weeks she seems
to relapse and I'm concerned. Pumpkin doesn't do anything and besides she
won't eat it.. She is on a low residue diet and no treats. Please help
us. Thanks so much in advance.

Marciano
