Mary, please post for me...
GOBR's Otto (OMG) made it through the night. With the IV fluids with the vitamins, antibiotics, and so on going, no problem with Otto peeing every time the vet went back yesterday afternoon and last night to take him out and check on him, and none this morning either. The receptionist came in this morning a little before 7 and was turning on the lights and saw him in the special kennel and was like "what are you doing here OMG"? Oh yes, no doubt in her mind that was Otto, not just some other white Boxer. He had a good BM last night at 10 when Dr Thorn walked him, not diarrhea like he'd been having. That's good news as well.
Yesterday he heard a heart murmur, but had not heard it earlier in the week when he had examined him initially. So the thinking is the dehydration caused that. But now he is doing an EKG to check that out. There's going to be other tests today to see what all else may be going on, maybe things that were going on even before he had been abandoned when the owners moved and left him tied out in the cold with nothing.
If you aren't following his progress on GO Boxer Rescue's Facebook page, linked from below, where you don't have to be a Facebook member, you can also see pictures of him on our main page, also linked below in my sig block.
