Re: [boxer lovers] Re: WANTED: INFORMATION ON WHAT YOU FEED YOUR BOXERS

Hey thanks for the articles . I have read the majority and I think it is a good report . I only feed raw and food from grocery stores fit for humans. As I read it states food for dogs is not safe for humans and loaded with pathogens .(kibble) If it is safe for me it is safe for my dogs . If not safe for my dogs , then its not safe for me . I have 3 dogs and my 2 eat an all raw  diet 10 and 6 years old and  the picture of health . But then I did a whole lot of research and feed all raw , bones , kelp,  fish oil supplements and digestive pro amd pre biotic enzymes.. Also balanced meals , chicken , turkey, pork , beef , organs. lamb . Any human grade food. They are not fat and and have no heaith concerns , no heart worms , no fleas , no reg worms ., no ear infections or dermatitis and they are not vacinated iether, And then my vet says yes they are healthy but please buy my crap Eukanuba . And I say now why would I do that ?. These guys dont even have
allergies.

I have to agree with Sherri. Sherri and I grew up together at the dog Shows. Her Dad handled several of our Boxers. We saw many times where dogs were just naturally thin. We had some that we fed all sorts of stuff to get weight on them to look better in the shows. These guys just stayed on the lean side until they hit 8 years or so. Then they gained, boy did they gain. We found ourselves having to put them on weight reduction diets. I feel as long as the Vet does not find a reason they are thin like worms, thyroid problem, etc. I don't worry about it. As for raw feeding I am not a fan of it. I did a lot of research about it and found many pros and cons. I feel if it works for you fine, but I prefer to feed Science Diet and Pedigree. I use the pedigree for treats. They think they are getting goodies but are actually eating food.
