I have used for our puppies when we had some..."Diamond Naturals" Large Breed Puppy, it is a lamb and rice formula..and my boxers have done really well on it.... This year my adults have been fighting allergies a lot and I began to wonder if there was something in their food that was causing it ..like the grain so I switched to Merrick grain free.. which is really expensive but they got worse so I am back with Diamond Naturals chicken for 60+ lb adults....and they are doing better but since they did so good on the large breed puppy that was lamb and rice when they were puppies I am thinking maybe to try the adult lamb and rice...and see if they may be allergic to the chicken...it is just a trial and error things with allergies...but the main thing to look for is if the dog food has meat by-products, BHA, corn, wheat, soy...and "Diamond Naturals" doesn't have any of that stuff...plus it is reasonable... $25 to $35 for 40 lbs...it is a good food. I
know one plant had some recalls but as a whole it has been good...If they didn't recall when there was a possibility of contamination ..then I would worry..The 60+lb formula has bigger kibble and my boxers don't have as much trouble eating it without spilling half of it along the way...I am going to see if they make a 60+ in lamb and rice formula...

We are feeding the Nutro, and the little puppies at home decided they like that better too. They got into Verena's food, and didn't want Purina any more.

This is going to sound like a silly question, but I don't do a lot of switching with dog food, and haven't fed the very expensvie food to my dogs. Does higher quaility food mean they are more easily satisfied and eat less? I don't feed dog chow, ol'roy or store brands, but use Purina One, and Purina Pedigree.
