Hi everyone. I joined this group 3 yrs ago when we got our cute little boxer puppy, Taylor. She is such a good girl. So sweet, loving, playful and very much loved. She's always been very active, we take her in long walks and she runs 4 miles per day with my husband. But these past couple of months she's been having problems with her legs or hips...I can't tell exactly where her pain is. She's very slow at getting up after laying and she sits on one side. We have had her to the vet. After the first visit he said she did not have displaysia and he checked her for lymes disease, which was negative. He told us to give it a couple of wks and bring her back if it worsened. We limited her activity. Later that week she fell coming up the stairs and we had to carry her to the top. We took her back to the vet and asked for X-rays. Upon looking at them he said she may have a slight tear in one of her tendons and it could be 6 months before she heals but will get better. It's been 2 months and we haven't seen any improvement. I think the vet thinks we are over reacting but it is so horrible watching her go through this and wondering if it could be something more serious. I was just wondering if anyone else's boxer has had these these problems and maybe a little advice as to what I should do now? We've been giving her cosequin...but it doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. Thank you in advance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
