The post by Karon Adams was very well spoken and a good reminder of the
scary things that can happen to our beloved 4 legged family., Just another
horrific story - and I was greatly saddened at reading what her and her
family - 2 legged and 4 legged were put through so needlessly. I know and
agree that Ditz was taken in and lived a fine life; and I know how
sensitive Springers are and agree that the shock of being taken from his
home and impounded was very hard on Rowdy's system. However, knowing the
unbelievable strength of our loyal companions, think that once he was safe
in his familys 'arms', he knew it was ok to 'let go' and felt safe enough
to do so. I don't think he 'just gave up" - I believe he knew it was his
time and he *would not* give up until he was safe once more. thankfully,
he was found but didn't have the physical ability to fight anymore - likely
due to his age.
I too have had a terrible happening due to the fault of the power company
who entered our acreage without any warning. I don't want to go into the
details - suffice to say, one of our Boxers died and 2 were injured because
of the Power company employee.
So be aware - do not allow anyone to enter your yard, for any purpose,
unless given prior permission to do so.
