Sorry about Moxie. I know how that can be. I have lost my bigger dogs, but not one of my doxies yet. Oscar is nearly 14, Rose is 7 and Tucker is 6. Tucker is not doing well. He started losing weight about 2 years ago and it has progressed to a point where he is all skin and bones. I took him to the vet and they tested him but couldn't find anything wrong. I have tried different foods, but nothing seems to work. Fresh chicken and rice, high quality canned or kibble. He doesn't tolerate high fat, seems like everything he eats goes in one end and out the other. If anyone saw him, they would think I neglect my dogs and never feed them, until you see the other ones. I am afraid he is not going to make it much further, but he is still fysty and has a good attitude. He is an undercover snuggler and a sweety pie. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I just don't know what else to do with him.Debi

Anyway, I had two doxies, black and brown shorthairs brother and sister I had adopted at 2 years old, and last May at 8 yrs old I had to put my girl Moxie to sleep due to her kidney failure. It hurt pretty bad. Mason, her brother had issues, looking around the house for her and such, but he's better now, but has some behavior issues since Moxie was the alpha and made all the decisions and he now has to, including not allowing another dog in the household. I'm working with an animal behaviorist now, we're making progress and doing some neat things

Re: Re: Where did everybody go?
I've never had this problem with mine, but with him not really being that old I'm thinking I would get more testing done or take him to another vet. Something has to be wrong for him to not gain and weight. Did they check his thyroid? Because sometimes it will not make them gain weight but make them lose it if it's not functioning right.
