Re: [boxer lovers] Introduction

Welcome LoriAnn and family!

I have been in rescue for years. However, I never had the pleasure of working with a boxer.  My fiancee is the one who challenged me to learn more about them as he had one.  Our Heidi just turned one on Christmas Eve and she has been an amazing addition to our family.  I have three children (21 - 14) and an 18 month old grandson.  After learning more about the breed, and when my grandson was born 3 MONTHS premature, I decided that the Boxer might be a great dog for "therapy" for my grandson.  And I (we) were right!  She fit into our family (which also includes 2 other dogs) like she has always been here.  She is superb with my grandson - tolerant and patient, loyal and dedicated.  She is absolutely perfect for all of that.  Boxers are very easy to train and need LOTS of exercise.  The other dogs in my house has been an excellent "tool" for the exercise she needs.  As long as they get lots of exercise and stimulation and attention (boxers are
overgrown lap dogs), boxers are superb additions to an active and growing family.  Please, please consider adopting one from a reputable rescue group such as GO Boxers here in Ohio.  It is unbelievable how many spectacular dogs need loving "fur"ever homes!

Peace!

Hello,

My name is LoriAnn, my husband David & I are interested in learning more

about the boxer breed. We have a 2 1/2 year old little girl named Samantha

who loves dogs, we are loved by our 6 year old brush coat black shar pei

Curtis & our loon of a cat Gracie,

Our beloved shar pei Mia passed away on Xmas eve, she was 11 1/2. We miss

her so much.

We do not want to rush into getting another dog, we want to wait, we also

have always liked the boxer breed but we do not know much about them, I

have done some research online & they seem like they would fit into our

family perfectly.

We want to be responsible & learn more about the boxer & I figured joining

a group like this would be the best place to learn.

Thank you.

LoriAnn.
