Re: [boxer lovers] Roughhousing with too much Rough

Watching them and stopping when it gets too rowdy ... just like you would with human kids ... should work. And say EASY or some other consistent word so when you use it, they know what you mean.

You don't say how old they are. From puppyhood you want to work in getting a boxer with a "soft" mouth by not letting them chew on you or each other. Doing this, mine have all developed the talent of folding their "lips" over their teeth when plating with me so No Teeth Are Involved.

Lucy and Zeke love to play fight. The only problem is Lucy's face looks like she went five rounds with Mike Tyson. She will go back for more too. It doesn't seem to bother her, but her face looks awful from Zeke's teeth or toenails.

Does anyone else's boxers do this and how do you teach them to play nicer with each other? These two are definately playing and not fighting, but they don't seem to know when to tone it down a notch or five.
