The below list of animals will be PTS TUES, 11/22, without a rescue commitment by MON, 11/21!
The shelter will be closed starting Wed, 11/23, so ALL dogs MUST be out of the shelter on TUESDAY, and I MUST have a list of dogs with rescue to the shelter by TUESDAY morning at 7:30 AM to keep them from getting PTS! PLEASE don't wait to contact us if you can help one or more of these dogs!
This small regional (five county) shelter fills up quickly and they euthanize every week for space. 99% of these animals don't have a chance if not rescued! These animals really need our help.

TWHRA mainly networks and works with rescues pertaining to the death row doggies, and adoptions must be taken up with Sandie at the shelter.
Transport to Lexington, Louisville and Cincinnati can be arranged, as well as short-term boarding near the shelter if your rescue needs to make arrangements for a longer transport or transport at a later date.
Please note that this is a small rural shelter and no vetting is performed at the shelter itself. The majority of the animals come in with little or no history provided. It is safe to assume that all of these animals will need full vetting when taken into rescue, and any medical needs they have will need to be addressed.

Beavis and Butthead: Possible lab/hound mixes with a little shepherd mixed in, both males, about 4-5 months old, owner surrenders. These two little cuties, who definitely need new names, are just darlings. They don't know what it is to have the love and attention they so deserve….can you show them the good life??
Sponge Bob: Border/Shepherd mix, about 1 year old give or take, male, owner surrender. Sponge Bob is a "real sweetie pie" as the shelter director put it. A beautiful dog with a wonderful temperament and personality to match. Please help Sponge Bob get to safety…
Mr. Magoo: Unsure of breed, about 1.5 years old, male, owner surrender. Mr. Magoo, as you can tell by his picture, is just terrified. He doesn't understand this awful place he's in, and who knows what has happened to him in his short life to make him so frightened. He's a cute little guy that has never known love…he needs to get out of the shelter asap!
Butter Ball: Border Collie mix, about 8 months old, male, owner surrender. Butter Ball and Buster (also pictured) came in together. Butter Ball has a great demeanor, bright eye, and is a handsome fellow! He is great with other dogs and with children….ready to go straight into his forever home!
Buster: Doxie mix, male, about 8 months old, owner surrender. Buster and Butter Ball (also pictured) came in together. Buster is a cutie pie….he loves to pose for the camera and has a darling personality and is ready to be your best friend…do you want to be Buster's new forever friend??
Elmer: Germ Shep mix, about 1-1.5 years old, male, owner surrender. Elmer is described by the shelter as a "big loveable lug"! He is a beautiful dog...loves to get love and attention and give some in return! Please help Elmer....
