Jaws- male, 2.5 years, dachshund-beagle mix, we think

Nacho- male, 1.5 years, dachshund

Reason for surrender - although the dogs have always been our little babies, we now have a sixteen month old and nine week old human babies and feel as if we are not giving the dogs near enough attention as they deserve and need. In addition, the older one sometimes growls at our sixteen month old daughter when she gets close to him, which worries me. He has never hurt her, but it does concern me. The dogs are currently kept indoors at night and when they want in during the day, but they also run freely in our yard (trained with an electric fence). Also, the dogs, jaws and nacho, need to be together, which makes it more difficult in finding them a nice home.

Neutered - yes

Utd on shots - yes

Hw neg - yes, takes hw medicine monthly, checked for hw at annual check-ups

Where are they now - home with us! :)

*I can provide medical records if you would like. They are seen by Dr. Bevins at Animal Medical Center in Frankfort, KY. Also, both dogs are potty trained.

We're full and overflowing, but will be happy to pass on to other rescues and all the doxie folks we can think of. It always helps to have more details. Is it possible more info, such as the reason for surrender, if they're neutered, UTD on shots, HW neg, where are they are now?

Another option is that we do a courtesy listing on our website, if the family wants. They can check out "Do you need to surrender your dog?" in the left column of our website www.allamericandachshundrescue.org
