Both of my parents have recently passed away. I live in Florida, but I am currently at my parents' home six miles west of Springfield tending to estate issues and guardianship of my disabled brother.
Mickey who was my parents' ittle red wire haired doxie male, Mickey, needs a home. He's 5 yrs old.pet and is here in Springfield with me. I had him brought up-to-date on his shots updated and neutered Monday 5/12..
He has issues with being over-protective so I do not recommend him for children because he has nipped. I am hoping that the neutering and a stable loving home will take care of this. He is very sad and is going through separation anxiety from my parents and his little bichon buddy for whom I found a home two weeks ago.
I have two rescue dogs and eight rescue cats in Florida. I have my hands full and cannot take on anything else.
Please call me...... 941-268-5750 - cell phone or you can also reach me at 217-546-6791 (in Spfld.) Lynda Lancaster
UPDATE - 9/15/11
He is 17 pounds of lap lovin doggie and is sleeping soundly at the foot of my bed right now. Recently, Mickey has been somewhat emotionally neglected due to both of my parents' declining health. They have both passed away within the last nine months and Mickey is lonely. He is housebroken but sometimes will roll on his back and pee on himself when he gets anxious. He gets along well with both cats and other dogs. He can be possessive of his territory and human friend and has nipped -- I think some training along with a lack of testosterone can change this behavior. Once he forms a bond, he is your forever friend and totally devoted. When he came home from the vets after his operation, he laid at my feet the entire evening with the sweetest look in his eyes -- my heart melted. I have two rescue dogs and eight cats at my home is florida. I literally have no more room at my "animal house". Mickey will make a perfect companion. I think he will be a wonderful loving canine buddy.
