Congratulations! Start training immediately! Boxers LOVE to please their people. Start with house training, of course. They love treat rewards but love praise and affection even more. I used both and over time, sometimes only praise and Heidi was just as happy with that. Boxers use their front legs much like hands. I used some of her natural movements to teach her "shake", "other pay". "high five", etc. just from movements she was already doing. She went on a long road trip (700 miles) in July when she was 6 months old and spent a week at the beach and she was absolutely perfect the whole time. Heidi is my first boxer and I will have at least one now for the rest of my life!

Hi everyone. I'm new to this group. My husband and I just got our 8 week old puppy Luna. We love her to pieces! My family has pretty much always had dogs, but this is OUR first. We are so excited and just want her to be the healthiest, happiest dog she can be. Does anyone have any tips or advice for a first time boxer owner? :)
