I just read over your information on Dachshund Rescue and was hoping you could help us with our Danny. We are moving from Vancouver to Portland and the new home will not let us bring a dog, no matter what. We got Danny from the Clark County Humane Society in 2000 and they said he was 2-3 at the time. He is now in his waning years. He is an older dog so has cataracts, dry skin and bad teeth. We try to keep his nails cut and give him baths for the skin, but it doesn't always work. As for his teeth, we can't afford a dentist for us or him. My daughter hasn't seen a doctor in years and I get to see one only because I am a veteran. We could probably find the $100 since we have family that wants to see Danny taken care of but can't do it themselves either. I know it is harder to find a home for an older animal (I'm one myself), but I hope you can be of help since I really don't want to have to put him down. He is still loving and very friendly. He doesn't like bigger dogs but gets along with smaller dogs and cats. Thank you for reading this and for any help you might be able to give our Danny. | | | |
