I got caught up talking with one of the other volunteers while I was out walking her and hardly even noticed that she was on the other end of the leash. She has impeccable manners. Thelma and Louise are having a really hard time adjusting to all the scary noises in Animal Control. They are shy at the moment but very sweet. If you decide to meet them all you have to do is go into their kennel and they will come over and check you out. They are submissive but they don't show any signs of fear aggression and enjoy affection. Unfortunately, my pictures don't do them any justice. They were frightened by my camera. They will take treats from you and give you a few quick kisses to show their appreciation. Despite their shyness they truly enjoy human attention. If anyone has sometime to come and visit them and give them some love it would help bring them overcome their fear and help their chances at getting adopted. They deserve a wonderful home and both look like they could use some good meals. You may have to look into their kennel and coax them out but it is worth it!!

Tiny Tim is just sooooo precious! He has a leg injury that makes it difficult for him to walk on his back leg. Bad picture alert! Lobo is pretty afraid of the pound. He did come forward enough to smell my hand, and ate a couple snacks I tossed to him, but he is in need of a lot of love and care. Ringo just came in when I was out there. This baby is really unsure of his surroundings and animal control can be hard to adjust to at first with the noise and commotion. He was more than happy to see a human come and spend a little time with him. He wasn't sure how the leash worked and didn't like that it tightened up around his neck. (a little training and he will be ready to go) I decided to carry him to the interaction pen and he was more than happy to let me. Even though he is a bigger pup he is still just a cuddly baby. What a sweetheart he is. He was so eager to please that he sat very nicely for his pictures and a treat. He was very gentle in receiving the treat and was not pushy at all for attention. It seems as if he needs a little TLC. He has patches of hair missing and a bath would probably feel really good. With a wonderful home this baby would be a show stopper. Miss Fozzy landed in the pound after an altercation with a neighborhood Pekingese. For that reason, she is available to rescue only. That aside, Fozzy is a sweet gentle giant and even lived peacefully with a small dog. Like any St. Bernard, she is all fur and slobber. She could probably use to have her shave trimmed up more neatly, and could gain a couple pounds, but she a sweet and playful dog. Quite the man of muscle, Starbucks politely waited his turn for the photo shoot. Once out of his run, we quickly found out how inquisitive this fine man is. Saratoga seemed like a really sweet little boy. He hesitantly came out of his pen, but once out and in the interaction pen, he became much more friendly and much more loving. He really is a sweet boy, and I can't imagine why anyone would get rid of him. He's such a sweet puppy and a loving one to boot! One strange thing is that he seemed to be afraid of SMALLER dogs! I have know idea why, but he did not like them. He wasn't mean to them, just avoided them. I think he'd make a wonderful pet for anyone who wants a puppy who is still young enough to train, but old enough to want to bond with you. He's really a loving dog, but understandably scared here at the shelter. One minute he's secure in a home, the next minute enjoying a fun car ride, and then left here with no familiarity whatsoever, surrounded by many loud, stranger dogs. Being an owner surrender in a full shelter, he's guaranteed no time at all, so don't waste a day getting to the shelter to save his worthy life!

Eve is one of the most enthusiastically affectionate adult cats I've ever met. As soon as I opened her cage door, her tail started to quiver with excitement. Immediately she came forward for pets and eagerly pushed her head against my hand for ear scratches. She couldn't get enough of the petting, and purred while making biscuits the entire time I was talking to her. Adult cats are very rewarding to adopt, and Eve is an absolute sweetheart. The person to come to the shelter and pick her up will be very lucky.
