#769 Artie

Dachshund: An adoptable dog in New Haven, CT

Small • Young • Male
Artie was transferred to Dachshund Rescue and Services.Two-year-old Artie was reportedly "found" and the caller stated that he had bandages on his ear. Someone took the time to strategically place several bandaids on his ear, once removed it was discovered that he had a severe injury to his ear. It had been sliced nearly in half. He may have got his ear caught and ripped away from what ever he was stuck on. He was taken to the vet and had emergency surgery to repair his ear. He is a very active dog that is not a couch potato. He needs an owner that can exercise him daily and put him to work otherwise he will poke you with his nose and jump on and off your lap then whine if he doesn't get the attention he wants. He gets along with other dogs and will surely get along fine with cats after he pester them to death and they swat him away. It is very important to research the breed or have knowledge of the breed when...
