Yes , they will learn but you do have to be consistent, and ask them to "go outside"? or what ever you choose to call the potty break. Then take them out as soon as you ask, like every 20-30 minuets at first. Gradually increase the time between asking. It will be time consuming at first. Not as much time, energy and money as just letting them pee in the house and cleaning it up after them though. They are naturally clean animals and want their space clean and dry. If you let them potty in the house they will become lazy about it and potty in the house. Puppies as well as adults. Good luck and happy training. Peg
