This test is made by MARS. The company also have other tests available, including breed DNA testing. Learned about this one today that tests for all the genetic markers for the various health issues. The web site lists them all. For sure DM, DCM, and on and on. It is only $99.99. The web site is www.wisdompanel.com This particular test is called the Optimal Selection.
I called them to see if they would give a discount for rescues, but not on this test, but they do have other things that could help in rescue, especially for the breed DNA to help expedite adoptions if we ever need to do that.
As I explained to some of you earlier, this is because our foster had a syncope episode today, and when we took him to the vet right after that his EKG was ormal and nothing was heard of murmurs or anything else, perfet heart beat. He is just a little over 1 yo. If he has more episodes before the results get back to me, we'll do a holter for sure, and if nothing else shows from the testing, we'll do one, and depending on what is shown on the various markers will be more knowledgeable as to what else to test for.
Check out the site for all the various testings they do. They were really nice on the phone and very helpful as well. They are shipping a kit to me for us to do a cheek swab (yes, just like on CSI and so on) to send back to them for the testing and will e-mail the results back to me.
Since I had never heard of this particular comprehensive test wanted to let everyone know about it.
