Re: [boxer lovers] Service training

Karon, I am so sorry to hear that you've broken your back.  The pain must be horrible.  Please take care of yourself and give yourself time to heal.
It is my belief that boxers can be wonderful service dogs.  There is a good chance that someone close who can train your puppy for "service" -- it will sure be wonderful to have Mischief being so bonded with you

So, I broke my back in January. I have just been diagnosed with VERY brittle bones. Bending over to pick things up is painful. I can't lift things, and some help getting out of bed or standing from my chair would be great. Mischief is white and of very nice bloodlines, currently 4 months old.

Has anyone had a Boxer trained for service? How do they do? I'm also thinking of dog carting with him and Tangle if she is up to it.

Any info would be gratefully accepted.
