Animal Rescue Recap: Lily's Release!

National Aquarium Animal Rescue released their 150th animal—a grey seal pup named Lily—last Tuesday, June 9. After a couple months of rehabilitation for a broken jaw, Lily was guided safely into the ocean at Assateague State Park with help from staff and volunteers. Check out more photos from her big day!

If you haven't visited our new Living Seashore exhibit yet, here's a reason to: You'll have the opportunity to touch a clearnose skate, a peculiar-looking animal named for its translucent nose. This species is found inshore along the Atlantic, where it feeds on shrimp, mollusks, crustaceans and small fish.
