Hi everyone,
This past August I lost my almost 11.5 year old boxer named Mason to a combination of Insulinoma and heart failure. Just a few weeks later my almost 3 year old boxer was diagnosed as having a mast cell tumor which I promptly had removed. His tumor was removed with clear magins and there were no signs at all that the cancerous cells had spread. It was a subcutaneous tumor so it wasn't graded as cutaneous tumors are. In 2011 I also lost my first boxer to ARVC.
With these unfortunate events it really kicked me into high gear to learn more about going with a more holistic approach when it comes to caring for them. I've set up an appointment with a holistic vet and will be discussing titers and a few other topics as well. My goal is to eliminate as many vaccinations as possible and to see what else I can do to better care for my two remaining boxers (my almost 3 year old boy Logan and a 2 year old girl named Abby).
Another step I took was to create a new group on Facebook. It's called The Holistic Boxer and the purpose is just as the name suggests. I want to learn and share information about holistic approaches. If anyone is interested in joining to learn or help educate, you're more than welcome. Here's the link... https://www.facebook.com/groups/theholisticboxer/
I checked the rules and didn't see where sharing links to other groups was against the rules so I hope this is ok. My new group was not intended to steal members nor is there any profit being made. I just want to help this breed that I love so much to become healthier and stronger. :)
Thanks,
- MandyH
