My name is Becca and in February we got our second boxer. We lost our first boxer about 4 years ago and it took me a while to feel ready for another one. Our newest Boxer, Echo, is a sealed brindle. At least that is what we were told. Shes black with white toes and white on her chest and nose. Anyway, in July she got really sick and developed diarrhea and vomiting. The doctors did all the tests and could not find a reason. After several days of sub-q fluids and antibiotics, more de-wormer, and special food, she finally had normal stools again. But ever since then, if I feed her too much at one time she developes the diarrhea again. She has been on a grain free dry dog food since we got her. I feed all my dogs Earthborn Holistic. The other concern I have is that she only weighs a little over 30 pounds. I can't seem to get her to gain any weight. Her spine and hip bones stick out and I feed her three cups a day unless shes having diarrhea. I'm starting to add cooked rice to her food. I am hoping this will help with the diarrhea. The vet doesn't seem to concerned as her bloodwork is all good and her behavior and temperment are fine. Other than her small size and her digestive pyrotechnics, she is normal in every way. She plays, she runs, she gets into things. She's wonderful. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? Or is this something that boxers do sometimes?
