Yep. I cannot and will not say I will NEVER surrender a pet because we never REALLY know what is happening in someone's life But, it would have to be a big, fat hairy, MAJOR life change that would make me even consider giving up my babies. I say it won't happen but one never knows. I will say it WILL be a MAJOR life changing situation which I cannot manage any other way that is it. I wish I could bring Chula to my house and let her live out her days with my babies. Poor darling!

I join your scream session. I feel the same way. I know there are some instances where they have to give up a dog such as the death or placement of owner in a home. There are however many times as a dog gets older and costs a little more at the Vet they dump them.
When I get a pet it is till death do us part.

I'm sorry, I HAVE to say this. there IS NOT MUCH in this world that P!SSES
me off more than seeing an elderly dog left at a shelter. And then, hear the
halting 'excuses' from the surrendering owners. Just too old, just too big,
just couldn't handle.. I want to slap these people but, in the best interest
of the dog, I smile, take the leash and look for a good home to take proper
care of what was a loyal, loving member of a family, left and abandoned,
never knowing why. I just want to scream!
