Sherri (Oversby) and Jeff Taylor's home burned to the ground Friday night, waking them around 1:30. They live outside of Sunbright, TN (W of Knoxville), . Sherri is the daughter of the late Dale Oversby and Ann (was Oversby) Stone that many in the show world and other areas knew so well. Dale and Sherri were professional dog handlers, and big in the Boxer community for sure. Sherri is the GO Boxer Rescue Webmaster, and she and Jeff have adopted a number of senior Boxers from rescue as well as others, both Boxers, a Minpin and cats, mostly Siamese. Four of their dogs are missing, as well as all the cats. This family lost everything, other than the clothes on their backs and their vehicles.
Sherri, Jeff and 6 Boxers are currently staying in their van on their property, not wanting to leave in case some of their other fur babies return. You can see pictures of the four missing dogs at Chrissy - http://www.ourbutterscotchcastle.com/chrissy1.html , Sparkle - http://www.ourbutterscotchcastle.com/sparkle1.html , Rascal - http://www.ourbutterscotchcastle.com/rascal1.html , and Roger - http://www.ourbutterscotchcastle.com/roger1.html . There are no pictures of the Kitties available at this point at least.
As I said above, they lost everything. My husband, Wayne, and GOBR Volunteer Jim are taking our camper down to them on Saturday. They need literally everything. Right now they need clothes, bedding, and everything Boxer related. Sherri, being a professional handler prefers to use the nylon chokes. They need leashes, dog toys, dog bedding, crates (going to check to see if there are a couple in our shed to send but not sure yet).
Sherri and Jeff both wear size 3X tops and pull on pants such as sweats. They both can wear size 44-30 jeans and other pants. Sherri wears size 7 shoes and Jeff wears size 10.5. There are a few things in our camper that we used on trips, but not that much, so they can use dishes, pots and pans, cups, glasses, and so on.
The main bed in the camper is Queen size. There are twin bunks and the couch makes into a double bed. Granted the dogs will use the couch and lower bunk the most no doubt, as well as maybe the dinette made into a bed at night for the dogs.
If anyone has anything they can get to me by Friday afternoon then Wayne and Jim can take those things down on Saturday. Their mailing address is 210 Ervin Brown Rd, Sunbright, TN 37872 (If you copy this to a Facebook, or other public pages please do not include their address but substitute that anyone wanting to mail things to them to contact Director@goboxerrescue.com for shipping details) for anything you want to mail/ship to them.
I'm hoping to get an account set up for sending monetary donations on Monday. Will let all know on that later on.
Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.
Again, please feel free to share, just don't put their home address, but rather the director@goboxerrescue.com address for people wanting to mail/ship items to the Taylor Family, 2 and 4 leggers.
