RE: [boxer lovers] integrating my dog with other dogs

Great suggestion!
Probably won't get this kind of help t shelters, but rescue groups are great at this.

Hi Gail,

If you work with a rescue on adopting another dog they should be able to help you find a boxer that will work with your girl. We recently had a couple with a 7 year old female boxer that wanted to get a second one. Years ago she was told that Rosie was dog aggressive by a trainer and because she was iffy with other dogs, she was kept away from them. She wasn't dog aggressive, just not socialized.

The dog they really wanted didn't work out with Rosie. It was going well, then Rosie flipped a switch. The next 3 times we tried, Zeus was the jerk to her. He's my foster and he has zero issues with my two girls, so sometimes it's just chemistry between two dogs. Next, Rosie was introduced to Jeffrey, a 10 month old boy. Instant success and now they are posting pictures of Rosie and Jeffrey snuggling every day.

Tell the rescue about your girl and let them work with you on the right dog and how to integrate them.

Thanks Devon. The reason I want her to learn to be around other dogs is because I want to adopt 2 more boxers!!! I've always wanted 3 of them, so this is very important to me!!
