Would be nice to have more info,,
was the spaniel new to the family, how old was boxer when they got him, how long did they have him , had either dog shown agression before?
In my long life, I've only seen three boxers show aggression,
one would fiercely attack dogs and even people, but it was all an act, he never used his teeth. Didnt know his history, but clearly had been abused.
Another was a trained attack dog that wasn't good at it as she would growl at her handler when commanded to attack.
The last was attack trained also, he was very protective and had been attacked agressively by another dog so he learned to attack other dogs without hesitation. He, however, never drew blood even though he sounded like a demon. I pulled him off another dog, when he was in full on attack mode, by wrapping my arms around his neck cause he wasn't wearing a collar,, a completely foolish thing to do, he turned towards me, then completely stopped when he realized it was me and allowed me to pull him back.
That is very unusual for a dog to do, which is why u NEVER get between fighting dogs. You pull them apart by their hind legs and turn them in a circle, this works if you have two people or if one dog will run when the other is removed. I have also had success soaking dogs w water hose.
But point is, I've never seen a boxer harm another animal or human. Not even the one that been horribly abused. Not even the two that were trained attack dogs.
wow and I have a male boxer and 2 cocker spaniels
