Re: [boxer lovers] Boxer "acne"

I use ONLY stainless steel dishes that not only get dishwasher cleaned regularly, they also get bleached in between.

I am going to add to our routine a daily face washing using a baby bath so it is mild but anti-bacterial.  It was recommended to use a 50/50 water and peroxide wash when she has a flare up.  It does not get that bad - but I see her rub her face/chin on soft things so I suspect it at least itches somewhat.

Thanks!

Val

The very first thing to do is IF you are using
food and/or water bowls made of plastic, aluminum
or china - get rid of those immediately. Go to
stainless steel or glazed ceramic. The three
no-no's above are porous and hold bacteria, even
if they are washed daily in the dishwasher. If
changing to the stainless steel or glazed ceramic
doesn't do the trick then talk to your vet about
using an acne medicine. I've never had to go
that route but know of a number of people who
have and many have used Clearasil (?sp) and it worked.
