Baltimore Green Sea Turtle Calypso is Introduced to Blacktip Reef
We've introduced the first animal, our 500-pound green sea turtle Calypso, into our new exhibit! We're excited for Calypso to continue to explore her new digs and to meet the neighbors, as we introduce hundreds of animals into Blacktip Reef over the next month! After months of construction, guests are now able to pass through the entire exhibit space and view the new Blue Wonders: Reefs to Rainforests experience.

Sandbar Pup Celebrating National Treasures this Fourth of July
We all explore and enjoy the national parks, monuments, wildlife refuges, coastal preserves, forests, grasslands, marine sanctuaries, lakes and reservoirs of this amazing planet. In Maryland, there are 16 national parks and 5 national wildlife refuges that many species call home. This Fourth of July, let's take some time to reflect on the importance of these national treasures.

Dolphin Count Annual Maryland Dolphin Count
Friday, July 12, 2013, from 8 to 11 am
At the National Aquarium's annual Dolphin Count, volunteers spend a few hours on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland, watching the water for passing dolphins and filling out a data sheet. Each team will have an Aquarium representative to help set up and answer questions. The event is free and open to the public.

Baltimore Sports Photography Iconic Sports Moments:

Through October 2014
This special exhibition at the Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards showcases the sports photography collection from photographer Neil Leifer. The photography exhibit will be housed in the museum's Thomas Winstead, Jr. Gallery. The 54 images in the exhibition include many of Leifer's memorable Sports Illustrated photos, such as Muhammad Ali's 1965 knockout punch to Sonny Liston, Team USA's victory over the Soviet Union in the 1980 Winter Olympics, the 1973 Preakness Stakes featuring Secretariat and Alan Ameche's 1958 championship game touchdown.
