FYI, there is an update on the rescue's FB page:

Debo update:
We are amazed and so grateful for all the outpouring of support for Debo!:)
Just for some clarification....Debo's original owner gave him up a year
ago. We have not had any contact with this gentleman and do not know his name
or phone number. All of our contact has been with the woman that took Debo
in.
Yes, we know it's illegal to deny a service dog residence and illegal to
enforce fees to a service dog but we can't turn back time and what is done
is done. The woman indicated that her friend could not or did not wish to
have Debo back. We did tell her to please give her friend our contact info
and if he wanted to fight for Debo we would offer any help we could.
Perhaps if he knows people are willing to help he will reach out .
Our main focus now is to get Debo properly vetted and neutered if the vet
feels it's in his best interest and he is healthy enough to undergo neuter
surgery.
We took Debo in and scrambled for a temp foster because it was the right
thing to do.We could not leave him there another day. Debo is safe now. He
is a sweet and charming boy. We have had several offers to foster and had
some foster applications submitted. This is wonderful! We will be taking
him to our vet on Thursday and will contact potential fosters after he has
had a few days to decompress and we can evaluate his behavior a bit more.
Thank you all so much for the outpouring of love and support for a senior
boy! If you would like to make a donation to help with Debo's vet bills
please use the paypal link on our website. Please put in the comments
section"Debo" Thank you!
