My experience with boxers has been with a female. She was the sweetest most gentle dog on earth.
Others on the board may disagree, but to me it would seem your boxer boy may be like many other male dogs trying to establish his dominance. If it were me and you aren't planning to breed him, I would most certainly have him neutered. It may help calm him down a bit but having said all that, he's still a puppy......
