Re: [boxer lovers] trouble- any suggestions welcome

hi I do have a crate . he goes in there when I am out and the other 2 run free. also at night he has always slept with me so when he gets up I know its time to go out to the bathroom.  he has a large bed but prefers the cockers little bed and is so big he is ruining it now. sometimes I kick him out of bed and tell him to use his big bed . then I have 2 small beds for the cockers . funny the 1 cocker gets in the big bed and then the boxer gets in the little bed . I am just glad they all get along . the 1 cocker doesn't care much for the boxer but she knows he's staying now. I haven't fixed him -neuter   yet because I think he should be at least a year for the bones and muscles to develope . if I had to do it over I would not have spayed my girls. The boxer doesn't lift his leg yet and I don't think neutering him would slow him down. I see people with boxers so well behaved and just sitting there and I cant imagine what they went through in the
beginning . I am home most of the day and spend all my time teaching this dog. he is quite stubborn and sometimes just runs all crazy in the house and on the furniture like a broken record. but after meals we have quiet time , thank G_d

Totally agree with everything Val has told you,
but would also like to add in CRATE TRAIN. He
won't be able to get into things when you are
gone, or asleep, unless you close your bedroom
door to restrict his movement, and have your
bedroom puppy proofed - yes, just like toddler
proofed. A crate is not mean, they learn to
consider it their space, just like human kids
like their own bedroom. There's lots of articles
on how to crate train on the web. I have a
feeling if you'd been crating since the time you
got him the house training issue would have been resolved by now.
