Re: [boxer lovers] feeding

I hear you, Valerie. That is the wonderfulness of where I'm getting my
dog's food ... local "boutique" butcher. Local raised. Mainly grass fed.
Beef he buys to sell has set requirements. He does also butcher 'bring
in your own" but most backyard "raise up a steer or two to put meat in
the freezer" aren't as bad as the stockyard/feeder lots. What he sells
as "animal food" is basically the "waste" from the processing. It's all
edible but not what humans would normally eat. I get stomach, esophagus,
organ, extraneous meat, 'gristle' and the like. I also get what we call
"bone dust" -- the pickings from where they use the saws to cut the
bones apart. Meg at nearly 8 is in great health. Perky. Best condition
one of my elderly dogs has been at this age (and I ALWAYS fed premium
foods before!) in a long time.

Like I've said -- she eats a better quality beef than I do!
