I've been reading several write ups pointing to the GMOs being related
to this new proliferation in allergies in dogs. AND the one food with
the most difficulty in finding a non-GMO version? CORN. Even the TRUE
(and I emphasize that!) organic growers are having problems because the
Monsanto changes have been picked up and moved into fields where their
product isn't planted.
Side note: You may have heard Monsanto was suing small farmers for
theft, copyright violation, blah, blah, blah because their "proprietary
corn" was showing up in fields of farmers who weren't buying the
Monsanto "special" (read GMO'd) corn. Luckily several true organics
counter sued and stopped that activity -- citing Monsanto for producing
an invasive product -- i.e., their GMO'd corn getting out of the fields
it was to be limited to.
So -- it's time for everyone to start paying very close attention to
what we feed. Finding HUMAN products that are GMO are not easy. We can
do some growing of our own, try buying non-GMO products (and they do
exist). Contacting our state and federal representatives to see if this
massive move to "fake" food can be slowed since it probably won't be
halted. We need to contact our feed manufacturers if we're buying
product. Tell them of our concerns and start educating who we can. Stop
buying products made in China. We KNOW they're producing junk! Make our
food producers, both our human and our animal ones, responsible.
One more thing. "Organic" on the label doesn't mean a lot. Because
several large corporate ag companies have bought previously "organic"
farms. They have put their own people into those farms and then onto the
"Organic" board. They've heavy loaded that organic board with their fake
organic farm heads ... and now control what can be called "organic" --
including GMO products! Products using chemical pesticides and herbicides.
