Hi it's FrankL from My Bones and Biscuits, I've only have Jersey Girl since this past April 2012. But She was 20 lbs underweight when I got her. She had a lot of digestive issues mostly because of the lousy food her previous owner feed her. Now she eat Blue Buffalo Grain Free
and she's feeling great, she filled out. And she's looking pretty good.

Her son however, thickened, even his nub is fat. He just does not seem to trim down even after reducing his food slightly. He was a singleton puppy so maybe that had something to do with it.

He's been with us 4 1/2 yrs with no episodes of passing out. Everyone who meets him loves him and he now goes up to everyone to greet them.

We had some that we fed all sorts of stuff to get weight on them to look better in the shows. These guys just stayed on the lean side until they hit 8 years or so. Then they gained, boy did they gain. We found ourselves having to put them on weight reduction diets. I feel as long as the Vet does not find a reason they are thin like worms, thyroid problem, etc. I don't worry about it. As for raw feeding I am not a fan of it. I did a lot of research about it and found many pros and cons. I feel if it works for you fine, but I prefer to feed Science Diet and Pedigree. I use the pedigree for treats. They think they are getting goodies but are actually eating food.
