Yeah, free feeding is never a good idea. Dogs need the same discipline we
people do. free fed dogs usually end up very obese. And Boxers can tend to
joint problems. There is no good to be had in allowing them to abuse their
joints to satisfy their tongue. If you can keep them wanting just a little
bit more, it also make training a little easier. Of course, you ARE talking
about a Boxer so, she will keep you on your toes<G>

Jordan,
Most people make a vet check appointment as soon as they get the puppy so I
think that's why you were asked about that. Most of us on this list use a
higher grade of dog food than puppy chow or we raw feed which is a whole
other ball of wax. Some puppies are picky. I don't free feed here or my
puppy would be huge as I have the opposite problem you do and he'll eat
anything, and I mean anything and everything, lol.

bathroom habits are normal, she drinks water fine, she just picks at
her food, if I hand feed her she;ll eat everything I give her. She just
won't on her own from the bowl. I had her on Purina Puppy chow, and I've
only had her two weeks and she came with her shots and worming, so there was
no need to see a vet yet.
