It is interesting how we seem to be born with an innate love for animals -
one species or all of them. I was raised in a family that usually had One
dog (Cockers for years and then an Airedale) and usually one cat. My mom
loved dogs deeply and finally got her dream dog - the Airedale. she wasn't
as nuts as I was - funny you agree you are 'crazy' - I am also one of the
crazies and my animals - I am so fortunate - we breed Boxers, Exotic
shorthair cats and now are down to just 3 horses - but still have them.
they have saved my life emotionally - so I hear you when you say how you
were saved by your beloved dog. A Bouvier I had for 13 years was my
4-legged soul mate - and I was her 2-legged one.
We could go on and on but suffice to say that people like yourself, and I
say myself as well, are there to protect and support our fellow creatures
as best we can and then some!
Kudos to you for having the strength and the love - and wonderful you
survived the tragedy of divorce and found your way back to a good life!
Long live the Crazy Ladies! <grin>!
Be well!
