Re: [boxer lovers] button tumor

First off: I AM NOT A VETERINARIAN!!! All I'm doing is sharing with you
something that was shared with me by people who HAVE successfully used
the treatment. I did some looking on line and found where "button tumor"
was also referred to as Mast Cell (call your vet -- ask if what your dog
has is known as a Mast Cell). There is an "over the counter" treatment
that has been successful. The big thing is these types of tumors are NOT
malignant. This is NOT a "cure all" of all tumors!!!

And check with your vet before you do ANYTHING ..... LisaW

If your dog is on any medication, you should always read the
PreCautions sheet. Some meds cannot be combined with Tagamet
(Cimetidine). updated 6/20/11.

_Dose for growths & epuli in a 55-75 lb. boxer_:

1 tab 200 mg. Tagamet (Cimetidine) and

1 tab 25 mg. Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) caplet

twice a day for 3 weeks.

/With dogs who are terminal, the treatment is continued for the
rest of the dog's life./

/Some people have increased the Benadryl to 2 tabs per dose with
no negative side affects and increased the shrinkage. Each dog is
different and you should decide your treatment accordingly. /

_Preventative Therapy in a 55-75 lb. boxer_:

1 tab Tagamet and

1 tab Benadryl caplet

twice a day for 2 weeks. I do this twice a year.
