Remember, don't give your dachsie many treats or feed her from the table! Measure out her food. and resist those melting brown eyes. My girl was a standard, and she got one cup of food a day, no more, no less.
I used baby carrots as a treat, never any commercial treat. My dachsie was nuts for carrots. She liked other vegetables, but carrots were her favorite.

The easiest way to help a dachsie lose weight is to replace half their
normal food with green beans. The green beans provide bulk but few
calories, and most dachsies love them. The dog feels full and
satisfied but is on a diet! Whenever I saw my standard dachsie start
to get a bit pudgie, she was on green beans for one or two weeks, and
it took care of the problem.
A lady who showed dachsies told me about the green bean diet. She used
it to keep her show dogs in trim.
you can use frozen or canned---doesn't matter.
